2020 term 3 week 4: Project work time

Advanced graphic design has been working on their term-long projects.  We have had some Illustrator projects, logo redesigns, 3D printing, photo manipulations, and apparel designs happening, and it's been a lot of fun to watch.  The class is working hard, and making some good progress!

2020 term 3 week 3: Work Time

Advanced Graphic Design students have finished up their project boards.  Each student in class now should have an idea for a project, a schedule for how to get it finished, and a collage of similar work that has been done to help guide them going forward.  Students will work on their projects now for the next 5 or 6 weeks or so, until it is time for them to put together their portfolios, present their work, and have their critiques.

2020 term 3 week 2: Project Boards

Advanced graphic design students had last week to brainstorm ideas for a term-long project of their choice.  They then wrote a project proposal of what they wish to work on this term, and a timeline of the components of their project, and what they will be responsible for each week.  A big part of the grade for this class is demonstrating a term worth of growth in advanced digital design.  Next week students will be putting together a project board.  The project board is a collection of similar work that is assembled into a collage.  The collage helps to provide direction for designers as they work on their projects, and to help get back onto track if they get stuck.  The project board also must include sources where they got the images for their collage.  This is for our standard that teaches students to be aware of fair-use guidelines and copyright policies.

Once students have their project boards complete, they will be able to start their term projects and follow their time lines that they created in week 1.
