Typography

We are learning about typography in graphic design class.  We started off with a TED Talk by David Carson and had some dialogue about what typography is.  Students then created a list of idioms and figures of speech on paper, then sketched pictures of the phrases.  We looked at examples of typography online and students then will start creating their illustrated idioms/visual puns on photoshop.  We also had a digital scavenger hunt where we needed to find 25 examples of typography outside of class and either post them to the virtual bulletin board, or tweet them to the class twitter.  Here is a collage of what the students found.

Students have had some very creative ideas for their typography illustrations and I'm excited to see how they turn out.
